St. Pete International Baseball Opens Friday

ST. PETERSBURG — The official start of the seventh season of St. Petersburg International Baseball opens with Team Canada facing the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday (March 24) at Walter Fuller Baseball Complex, 7901 30th Ave N.

Game times at Walter Fuller are all 1:05 p.m. This season will also serve as the second official season of an international spring training league, featuring players from 12 countries, including Australia, Belarus, Canada, China, Czechoslovakia, France, Germany, Italy, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Spain, and three continents. International teams will play MLB prospect squads from the Rays, Blue Jays, Phillies, Tigers and Braves.

Tickets to Walter Fuller games are $10 each and are available one hour prior to game time at the box office. Group tickets and local partner packages are available. All games at Huggins-Stengel Field, 1320 5th St N., are free to the public. Free parking is available. Gates open one hour prior to game time.
