St. Pete Holds Information Session on Sewer Improvements

Sewers | Sewer System | Sewer Pipes

This is the second session the city has scheduled to discuss proposals for work at the Southwest Water Reclamation Facility and the 31st Street Sports Complex.

ST. PETERSBURG – Residents are invited to share ideas and suggestions regarding the city’s plans to increase the capacity of St. Petersburg’s sewer system.

Plans include adding two 1,100 ft. deep injection wells at the Southwest Water Reclamation Facility, 3800 54th Ave. S, as well as two wells at the 31st Street Sports Complex, 4801 31st St. S, to increase disposal capacity for reclaimed water during heavy rain events. The wells are an addition to injection wells already in operation at the Southwest plant, which pumps treated reclaimed water deep into confined saltwater aquifers.

The informational meeting, the second the city has scheduled, is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday (Jan. 11) at Lake Vista Center, 1401 62nd Ave. S.
