Largo Closes City Facilities

Largo parks are still open. The Largo Public Library drive-through will remain open and RG’s cafe will also remain open for carry-out and delivery. Largo City Commission meetings are still scheduled in April but will be evaluated based on legal review.

LARGO – Following the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and recommendations for social distancing, the city of Largo has made the following closings and cancellations.

Starting at 8 a.m. today (March 19):

City Hall and all city facilities will be closed to the public until further notice. Using the CDC guidelines for a healthy workplace, staff will continue to report to work, as usual, to provide services via the phone, email, and online.

The Building and Planning Divisions will be closed to the public but will remain open for questions, permitting, plan review, and inspections via online, mail-in and drop-off options.

Facilities closed through the end of April (including postponing all public events, programs, and classes):

  • Largo Public Library
  • Largo golf course
  • Highland Recreation Complex and Family Aquatic Center
  • Largo Community Center
  • Southwest Recreation Complex and pool
  • Largo tennis center
  • the Narrows Environmental Education Center
  •  All city playgrounds including Largo Central Park
  • Central Park Performing Arts Center

Currently, the Largo Public Library drive-through will remain open and RG’s cafe will also remain open for carry-out and delivery. Largo City Commission meetings are still scheduled to take place in April but will be evaluated based on further legal review.

Largo city parks are also open and a great place to enjoy a walk and fresh air. Visitors going to Largo parks are encouraged to adhere to CDC guidelines of social distancing and not gather in groups of 10 or more to reduce their risk of exposure and keep themselves and their families healthy.
