Holidays Come to St. Pete tonight

A tree lighting, music, kids games and concessions take place on the downtown waterfront.

ST.  PETERSBURG — St. Petersburg officially welcomes the holiday season tonight (Nov. 27) when Mayor Kriseman and Deputy Mayor Kanika Tomalin flip the switch to illuminate the city’s holiday tree and giant waterfront displays in Vinoy and North Straub Parks.

The annual holiday tradition begins at 5 p.m. with live music from the St. Petersburg Community Band, Expressions Dance Studio and Musicstars. There will be interactive kids’ games and concessions before the tree lighting ceremony at 7 p.m.Blanket seating is available.

Courtesy of St. Petersburg Parks and Recreation, the holiday tree, giant holiday cards and lighted park displays are available for viewing through Jan. 1. The event is free to the public.
