ST. PETERSBURG — Several restaurants today are offering a “Taste of Grand Central,” which will be followed by a Battle of the Burg(er) contest starting Saturday (Aug. 1).

Grand Central is situated just west of downtown St. Petersburg from 16th Street to 31st Street between First Avenue N and First Avenue S.

Among the restaurants participating in today’s “Taste” are Community Café, Old Key West Bar and Grill, Casita Taqueria, The Queen’s Head and Pom Pom’s Teahouse and Sandwicheria, St. Pete.

The Battle of the Burg(er) is a month-long event. Between Aug. 1 and Aug. 31, consumers will be able to dine at participating restaurants to taste the entries and vote online for their favorite for the People’s Choice award. In addition, three guest judges will sample and score each of the burgers to award a Judges’ Choice winner.

For more information, visit www.grandcentraldistrict.ort or the district’s Facebook page. Many of the restaurants also have Facebook pages.
