Woman Dies After Being Pinned by Her Car

The car began rolling when she was trying to get into it, FHP troopers said.

HUDSON – A New Port Richey woman died Wednesday (Feb. 7) of injuries she received when she was pinned between her car and a shed, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Charlotte Lois Zides, 78, of New Port Richey, died at the Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point where she was taken after the incident.

The incident happened about 4 p.m. at 12060 U.S. 19 N in Hudson.

Troopers said she was trying to get in her car, a 1992 Pontiac Firebird, which was in a parking space, and was partially inside when the vehicle began to roll forward. The left front of the Pontiac collided with a parking lot shed and pinned Ms. Zides.
