She was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from an SUV, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

PASCO COUNTY – A 15-year-old girl died from injuries she suffered in a crash on U.S. 301, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Two others suffered serious injuries and a third, minor injuries in the four-vehicle crash. Multiple people had to be extricated, according to Pasco County Fire Rescue.

Keely Rai Oltmanns, 15, of Lakeland, died at Regional Medical Center at Bayonet Point. She was not wearing a seat belt. Abigail Nicole Trammel, 17, of Lake Wales, the driver of one of the vehicles, was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital with critical injuries. Robert Stinson, 15, of Lakeland, a passenger, was also taken to St. Joseph’s with serious injuries. The three were airlifted as trauma alerts to the various medical centers, Pasco Fire Rescue said.

Jarod Hunter Dobson, 18, of Webster, the passenger in another vehicle, was taken to Dade City Hospital with minor injuries. Laramy Tuff Strickland, 21, of Bushnell, the driver of that vehicle, was not injured.

The crash happened about 7:09 p.m. on U.S. 301 at the intersection of Trilby Road in Pasco County.

Trammel was driving a 2002 Ford Explorer SUV west on Trilby. Strickland was driving a 2012 Ford F250 pickup truck, which was towing a utility trailer, north on U.S. 301.

Troopers said the Explorer failed to stop for flashing red signals at the intersection and entered the path of the pickup, which hit the left side of the SUV.

After the impact, the Explorer spun to the northwest corner of the intersection where it hit a fence and two parked cars that were inside the fence.

Ms. Oltmanns was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the rear seat of the SUV, during the crash, troopers said.
