Tractor Driver Dies in Hillsborough Crash

The man was thrown from the tractor he was driving, according to the Hillsborough sheriff.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A tractor driver was killed today (May 22) in a traffic crash on Lithia Pinecrest Road, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said.

Robert Gene Glaze, 81, of Lithia, died at the scene. The other driver, Leo Frank Harrison, 54, of Ft. Meade, was not injured.

The crash happened about 12:30 p.m. on Lithia Pincrest at George Smith Road. Mr. Glaze was driving a Kubota tractor westbound on Lithia Pinecrest at about 15 m.p.h. when he was rear ended by the 2005 Ford F150 that Harrison was driving. Deputies estimated Harrison’s speed at 60 m.p.h. to 70 m.p.h. Mr. Glaze was thrown from his seat on the tractor.

Charges are pending the reconstruction of the crash, deputies said.
