Tampa Teen Dies after Hit and Run Crash

The teen was crossing Hillsborough Avenue when hit.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A Tampa teen died Wednesday (Oct. 12) from injuries she received when hit by a vehicle while crossing Hillsborough Avenue, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Ashley Perdomo, 17, of Tampa, died at St. Joseph’s Hospital where she was taken after the crash.

Troopers said Ms. Perdomo was crossing Hillsborough Avenue near Blue Springs Drive about 8 p.m. when she stepped into the path of an oncoming vehicle. The vehicle hit her and fled the scene.
