Tampa Woman Dies in Pinellas Crash

The woman’s SUV overturned into oncoming traffic, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

PINELLAS COUNTY – A Tampa woman died Friday (Sept. 9) evening when her car overturned into oncoming traffic on Gandy Boulevard, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Sharyn Lee Forbes, 66, died at the scene, troopers said.

The FHP said the crash happened about 6 p.m. on Gandy Boulevard.Ms. Forbes was driving a 1999 Toyota Rav4 east on Gandy near San Martin Boulevard when her SUV left the road and traveled onto the grass median. As the Rav4 crossed the grass median, it overturned and went into oncoming traffic. It collided with a 2013 Mazda3 driven by Irene Wang, 30, of St. Petersburg, and a 2013 Ford F150 driven by Scott Kirk, 52, of Palm Harbor. Neither Wang nor Kirk was injured, troopers said.
