The other driver turned left into his path, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

HERNANDO COUNTY – A Spring HIll man died Tuesday (July 17) in a traffic crash on U.S. 19, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Michael Luciano Deleon, 26, of Spring Hill, died at the scene. He was wearing a helmet. The other driver, Joseph A. Firsching, 58, of Hernando Beach, was taken to Oak Hill Hospital with minor injuries.

The crash happened about 7:42 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 19 and Breakwater Boulevard in Hernando County.

Mr. Deleon was riding a 2001 Suzuki GSX north on U.S. 19 at a high rate of speed, troopers said. Firsching, who was driving a 2005 Toyota Camry south on U.S. 19, turned left at Breakwater Boulevard and into the path of Mr. Deleon’s bike. As a result, the two collided.
