Port Richey Motorcyclist, Pedestrian Die in U.S. 19 Crash

The pedestrian failed to yield right of way to the motorcycle, FHP troopers said.

CITRUS COUNTY – A New Port Richey man died in a motorcycle crash Monday that also killed a pedestrian, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Both Donald Glenn Moore, 50, of Port Richey, and Michael Andrew Higgins, 28, of Homosassa, died at the scene.

The crash happened about 11:45 a.m. on U.S. 19 south of S Suffolk Terrace in Citrus County.

Troopers said Mr. Moore was riding a 2017 motorcycle north on U.S. 19 when Mr. Higgins failed to yield right of way and stepped into the motorcycle’s path, troopers said. The motorcycle hit Mr. Higgins.
