Pedestrian Dies in Belcher Road Crash

Neither speed nor impairment appears to be a factor in the crash and no charges are expected, according to the Pinellas Park Police Department.

PINELLAS PARK – A Clearwater woman died Wednesday (Nov. 1) when she was hit while crossing Belcher Road, the Pinellas Park Police Department said.

Jessica Pepin, 29, died at the scene.

The crash happened about 1:26 p.m. in the 10300 block of Belcher Road where 75th Street intersects Belcher.

Police said Ms. Pepin tried to cross Belcher headed east when she entered the travel path of a 2017 Toyota being driven south on Belcher by Jorge Quintana, 23, of Kenneth City. Witnesses told police that Ms. Pepin began to run just before being hit by the Toyota.

Neither speed nor impairment appears to have been a factor in the crash. Police said no charges are expected.
