One driver was cited after the crash, according to FHP troopers.

PINELLAS COUNTY – A Port Richey man was seriously injured Wednesday (Dec. 5) when he was thrown from his motorcycle during a crash and then hit by another vehicle, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Mario Eden, 56, of Port Richey, was taken to the Regional Medical Center at Bayonet Point in serious condition. He was wearing a helmet. No one else was injured in the crash.

Sharon Pridemore, 62, of New Port Richey, was cited for an improper lane change, troopers said.

The crash happened about 6:18 p.m. on northbound U.S. 19 approaching Alderman Road in Pinellas County.

Troopers said Eden was driving a 2002 Honda motorcycle in the outside center lane of U.S. 19 when Pridemore, who was driving a 2015 Chevrolet SUV in the outside lane, changed lanes to the left. Pridemore collided with the motorcycle. Eden was thrown off the bike and into the path of a 2008 Chevrolet pickup, which hit him.
