He was thrown from his motorcycle, according to Florida Highway Patrol troopers.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A motorcyclist was critically injured Monday (Jan. 30) in a traffic crash, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The motorcyclist, a 21-year-old from Tampa, was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital. Troopers are withholding his name until relatives are notified.

The crash happened about 5:58 p.m. at the intersection of Busch and Twin Lake boulevards. Troopers said a 2014 Ford Focus driven by Alejandro Corrales Ulloa, 29, of Tampa, was turning left from Busch onto Twin Lake when it traveled into the path of a 2011 Suzuki GSX R6. The Suzuki collided with the passenger side of the Ford. The motorcycle driver was thrown from the bike, troopers said.
