CLEARWATER – A 24-year-old man died Saturday (June 3) from injuries he received in a traffic crash on Drew Street, Clearwater police said.

Salvatore Guarneri, 24, of Oldsmar, was killed in the crash.

Clearwater police said preliminary information shows that Mr. Guarneri, who was driving a Mercury Grand Marquis, was killed when he lost control of his vehicle as he drove westbound and collided with a Ford F250. Officers said he was driving recklessly and speeding just before the crash. His car slid sideways into eastbound traffic and the truck slammed into his driver’s side door. The female driver of the truck was not injured, but a 2-year-old child in the truck sustained minor injuries.
