He lost control of the truck while turning, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – The driver of a dump truck was seriously injured Tuesday (July 3) when it overturned, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Everett L. Hudson, 47, of Tampa, was taken to Tampa General Hospital with serious injuries.

The crash happened about 2:55 p.m. at the intersection of S 50th Street and Madison Avenue in Hillsborough County.

Troopers said Hudson was driving a 2015 dump truck north on S 50th Street in the right turn lane. While turning east onto Madison, Hudson lost control of the truck and it overturned onto its right side and spilled a load of dirt onto the highway.
