The man, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from his car after he lost control of the vehicle.

HERNANDO COUNTY – A man died Friday (Jan. 15) of injuries received when he lost control of his car while trying to pass other cars in a no passing zone.

Dead at the scene was Scott Dennison, 22, of Masaryktown. One of the other three drivers, Joshua Delbridge, 32, of Spring Hill, was taken to Bayonet Point Hospital with serious injuries, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Patrol troopers say Mr. Dennison was driving a 1994 Honda Civic south on Anderson Snow Road south of Oak Chase Boulevard around a right curve about 4:45 p.m. Friday (Jan. 15). Delbridge was driving a 2014 Toyota Tundra north on Anderson Snow Road. The Honda was trying to pass several vehicles in no passing zone when the driver lost control on the curve. The Honda and the Toyota collided. After the collision, the Toyota traveled off the roadway onto the east shoulder and overturned, troopers say.

The Honda spun and hit a 2003 Ford Mustang driven by Brian Kirby, Jr., 28 of Hudson, and a 2000 Honda Civic driven by Brett Wyrick, 25, of Spring Hill. Mr. Dennison, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from his car and died. It is unclear if alcohol was involved, troopers say.
