The motorcyclist ran a stop sign, according to FHP troopers.

PASCO COUNTY – A Seffner man died Sunday (Feb. 3) of injuries he suffered when his motorcycle hit a pickup truck that was parked in the driveway of a home, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

John Anthony Lopez, 49, of Seffner, died at the Regional Medical Center at Bayonet Point where he was taken after the crash. He was not wearing a helmet. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

The crash happened about 1:41 p.m. at the intersection of Wisteria Drive and Larch Drive in Pasco County.

Troopers said Mr. Lopez was driving a 2015 motorcycle south on Larch. For an unknown reason, he failed to stop at the sign at the Larch/Wisteria intersection and hit a 1993 GMC Sierra pickup truck that was park in the driveway of a home on Wisteria Drive.

The impact pushed the GMC into the closed garage door, which collapsed inward and hit a 2005 motorcycle and a 2018 Mini Cooper that were parked inside the garage.
