Gage Traver, 8, died at Tampa General Hospital, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

PASCO COUNTY – Gage Traver, 8, who was injured in a traffic crash Saturday (Jan. 7) while riding his bike, has died, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Gage, who lived in Port Richey, died Monday (Jan. 9) at Tampa General Hospital where he was taken after the crash, troopers said. He had not been wearing a helmet.

The crash happened about 3:35 p.m. at Palm Avenue and Flagler Drive. Troopers said a 2005 Lincoln SUV driven by Danielle T. Dunn, 41, of Port Richey, was headed north on Palm Avenue approaching the intersection with Flagler. Gage tried to cross Palm and rode into the path of the SUV, which hit him. No charges have been filed, troopers said.
