Bicyclist Dies in U.S. 19 Crash

The driver was later charged with driving under the influence of drugs/marijuana, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

PASCO COUNTY – A bicyclist died Sunday (April 16) in a traffic crash in Pasco County.

Grady Miles, 49, of St. Petersburg, died at the scene, the Florida Highway Patrol said. He was not wearing a helmet.

The driver of the car, Ali Hazime, 25, of Holiday, was charged with DUI (drugs/marijuana), troopers said.

The crash happened about 10:13 p.m. on U.S. 19 near Hudson Avenue. Troopers said Hazime was driving a 2007 Ford Explorer south on U.S. 19 when Mr. Miles, who was crossing U.S. 19, rode his bike into the Ford’s path.
