The crash blocked access to a rest area for several hours, FHP troopers said.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – No one was injured when a semi-trailer crashed on I-75 when the rear tandem axles separated from the vehicle, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

No one was hurt in the crash, which closed access to a rest area for about three hours.

The crash happened about 5:32 p.m. Monday (April 22) on I-75 at the entrance to the rest area at the 238 milepost in Hillsborough County.

Troopers said the vehicle, a 2000 semi-tractor trailer, was hauling a load of watermelons when the rear tandem axles separated from the body because of mechanical failure.
