49th Street Crash Kills St. Petersburg Man
He ran a red light, according to FHP troopers.
ST. PETERSBURG – A St. Petersburg man has died of injuries he received Saturday (Jan. 5) in a traffic crash on 49th Street N, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
John M. Burdette, 69, of St. Petersburg, died at Northside Hospital where he was taken after the crash. Alcohol was not involved in the crash.
The crash happened about 2:33 p.m. at the intersection of 49th Street and 46th Avenue N.
Troopers said Mr. Burdette was driving a 2003 Ford sedan south on 49th when he ran the red light at the intersection of 46th Avenue and hit a 2017 Ford pickup.
