TAMPA – A shot was fired during a struggle between an Uber driver and potential passengers Sunday (June 25) in the Adventure Island parking lot, Tampa police said.

No one was injured during the fight. No charges have been filed.

The incident began about 4:49 p.mm when Uber driver Julian Leon, 29,  arrived to pick up potential passengers, Austin Korb, 23, and Skylar Korb, 27. Officers said there was a verbal dispute about the Korbs’ being refused transportation because they were wet and not allowed in the Uber vehicle.

The verbal dispute escalated to a physical fight. Leon, who was fighting with both potential passengers and was in fear for his life, reached into the vehicle and took out a gun for self defense, police said. A struggle for the gun ensued and a round was fired.
