Sean Shaw Schedules Kickoff in Race for State Attorney General

State Rep. Sean Shaw from Tampa is running for Florida attorney general.

TAMPA – State Rep. Sean Shaw is holding a kickoff for his campaign for Florida attorney general.

The event is scheduled for 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. March 24 at the home of Alex Sink in Thonotosassa. Hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be provided.

Shaw, a Tampa lawyer, is the son of Leander J. Shaw Jr., the first African American chief justice of the Florida Supreme Court. Sean Shaw is currently holding the House District 61 seat in the Florida House of Representatives.

Shaw, a Democrat, is one of six announced candidates for attorney general. The others are Democrat Ryan C. Torrens and Republicans Jay Fant, Ashley Moody, Ross Spano, and Frank H. White. The seat is currently held by Republican Pam Bondi.

The primary election is Aug. 28. The general election is Nov. 6.
