Linda Jack is running for the District 36 seat in the Florida House of Representatives.

NEW PORT RICHEY – The United School Employees of Pasco have endorsed Linda Jack in the race for District 36 in the Florida House of Representatives.

“This endorsement is a recognition of your advocacy for teachers and support professionals, as well as your support for neighborhood public schools in Florida. We wish you every success in the coming election,” USEP President Don Peace said.

USEP represents the teachers and school-related personnel in the Pasco County Public School System.

“I’m grateful to Don and the USEP for these kind words and their endorsement,” Jack said.

Jack is a native Floridian who lost both parents at an early age. She put herself through college and launched a music career, traveling throughout the U.S. and internationally playing country, blues, rock and pop. She has also taught music.

She went back to college when she was 40 and became a veterinarian, fulfilling a lifelong dream.

If elected, Jack said she would be a champion for public schools and fight for commonsense reforms to reduce “rampant gun violence” in Florida and will seek equality for LGBT Floridians.

Jack, a Democrat, is running for the HD 36 seat held by Republican Amber Mariano, who is running for reelection.

HD 36 includes the western portion of Pasco County from Pinellas County to Hernando County. It includes Hudson, Bayonet Point, Jasmine Estates, Port Richey, New Port Richey East, Elfers, Beacon Square, Key Vista and Holiday.

The general election is Nov. 6.
