Levine Stumps in Tampa

Philip Levine is running for governor.

TAMPA – Philip Levine, former mayor of Miami Beach and Democratic candidate for governor, is scheduled to campaign in Tampa today (July 25).

Levine plans to attend House Democratic Leader Janet Cruz’s 2018 Job Fair at 10:30 a.m. in Tampa at Higgins Hall, 5225 N Himes Ave.

After that, he plans to meet with the Hillsborough Classroom Teachers Association to discuss the issues facing public schools and his plan to raise teacher pay and improve public education in Florida. That meeting is at 1:30 p.m. at 3102 N Habana Ave. in Tampa.

Levine has said he has a a progressive vision to move Florida forward as a leader in the 21st century economy. Levine has said that he wants to revitalize the state’s economy and provide  better-paying jobs, more competitive public schools, and an entrepreneurial approach to protecting the environment.

He is one of seven Democrats running for governor. The primary is Aug. 28. The general election is Nov. 6. Voters have until July 30 to register to vote or change their party affiliation for the Aug. 28 election.
