The five finalists for the job of Seminole City Manager are due in town today (June 25) for a reception to meet the council and public. Interviews are set for Friday (June 26).

SEMINOLE – City council members will meet the five finalists for the job of Seminole manager at a reception this evening (June 25). The reception, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., is in Seminole’s new community building at City Park, 7464 Ridge Road. The event is open to the public.

The five are scheduled to meet for one-on-one interviews Friday (June 26) morning with council members. The council as a whole is scheduled to interview them starting at 1 p.m. in the council chambers at Seminole City Hall, 9199 113th St. N. The afternoon session is open to the public.

Council members do not plan to discuss their views on the candidates until Tuesday (June 30) when they are scheduled to choose a replacement for Frank Edmunds (pictured). Edmunds, the city’s first manager, is retiring in August after 20 years on the job.

The finalists:

• Anthony Hamaday, township manager of Broomall, PA.
• Mark Kutney, who served for three years as city manager for Loxahatchee Groves on the east coast of the state.
• Calvin Peck, who has served as the village manager of Bald Head Island, NC, since 2006.
• Ann Tony-Deal, who is director of administration for the Florida Veterinary Medical Association and the former city manager of Haines City.
• Ernest Zmyslinski, who has served as the finance director in Warwick, RI, since 1999.
