Motorcyclist Dies in Pasco Crash

The man lost control of his motorcycle, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

PASCO COUNTY – A Port Richey man died early this morning (Sept. 14) when he lost control of his motorcycle and hit a utility pole, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Patrick Garret Grattan, 29, died at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet, the FHP said.

Troopers said Mr. Grattan was riding his 2013 Honda motorcycle east on Ridge Road just east of Airway Boulevard about 2:15 a.m. Mr. Gratton lost control of his motorcycle and collided with a curb. The motorcycle traveled onto the sidewalk, then onto the grass shoulder where it collided with a utility pole. Trooper said neither alcohol nor drugs were a factor in the crash.
