Tampa Man Demanded Sex for Return of Dog, Deputies Say

The dog has been returned to its owner, according to Hillsborough deputies.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A Tampa man has been accused of demanding sex in exchange for a woman’s dog, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said.

Kevin Austin Skaggs, 36, of Tampa, was charged with one count each of Extortion and Driving with a Suspended License.

Deputies said they were called Friday (Sept. 6) by a woman who said Skaggs had demanded sexual favors in order for him to return her dog. The woman knew Skagg who had been calling and sending her unwanted text messages for months.

Deputies found Skaggs driving in his vehicle with the dog. The dog was returned to the woman in good health and Skaggs was arrested.
