Teacher Attacked Two Students After Basketball Game, Bartow Police Say
One of the students had been arguing with her child, according to officers.
BARTOW – A Polk County teacher is accused of striking two students during a fracas in a McDomald’s parkng lot after a basketball game.
Liquindella Clark, 49, was charged with Child Abuse. The Bartow Police Department said she is a teacher with the Polk County School District.
Police said the incident began Friday (Feb. 12) after a Bartow High School basketball game. A group of students had gone to the Bartow McDonald’s where they began arguing. Clark, the mother of one of the students, approached one of the others involved in the dispute.
Clark “aggressively” approached the student who had been arguing with her child. Police said she threatened the student and was removed from the lobby by an unknown man who told her to go to the parking lot.
Clark went to the parking lot area where she waited until the students left the restaurant. At that point, police said, a physical altercation took place between the students and Clark.
During the fight, police said Clark hit one student in the face and took her wig off. She also hit another student in the head.
