Tampa Man, 78, Tried to Kiss Teen, 15, Deputies Say
The teen was able to get away, Hillsborough deputies said.
HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A 78-year-old Tampa man is accused of grabbing a 15 year old and trying to kiss her, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said.
Adoor Venugopal, 78, of Tampa, was charged with one count of battery second or subsequent offense, which is a felony.
Deputies said that about 2:45 p.m. Monday (April 30), Venugopal approached a 15-year-old girl near Dale Mabry and Tahoe Court in Tampa. Venugopal made sexual statements to the girl. When she tried to flee, he grabbed her and tried to kiss her. The teen pushed Venugopal away and fled to a safe location.
