Spring Hill Man Charged in Lounge Shooting

SPRING HILL – The suspect in a shooting at a Spring Hill nightspot turned himself in Saturday (Dec. 29) to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Roberto Rivera-Santiago, 44, of Spring Hill, was charged with one count each of attempted murder and violation of a domestic violence injunction.

Rivera-Santiago was wanted in connection with the shooting of a man at the Mermaids Lounge, 4658 Commercial Way, in Spring Hill.

The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called about 11:14 p.m. Thursday (Dec. 27) to Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville regarding a man who had been shot then dropped off at the hospital’s emergency room.

When deputies arrived, they found a 29-year-old man at the ER who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds from a shooting at the Mermaids Lounge.

The victim remained hospitalized in stable condition Saturday.
