Video of the woman bound and naked was found on his phone, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A Ruskin man has been accused of raping a woman and holding her captive, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said.

Jerry Douglas Roberts Jr., 32, of Ruskin, was charged with one count each of kidnapping, sexual battery, and aggravated battery.

Deputies said the woman was dropped off by a friend at a vacant home in Ruskin where she met Roberts about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday (April 11). Roberts guided her to the rear entrance of the
home.

When she entered the home, Roberts hit her multiple times in the face and head. Deputies said Roberts then held a machete to her neck and threatened her life, tied up with a ligature and sexually battered her. She was kept inside the vacant residence for about 18 hours before she was able to escape.

A court-authorized search warrant of the residence was conducted and deputies said they found evidence that matched the woman’s statements. Video of her bound and naked was found on Robert’s phone.
