Pinellas Park Teen Accused of Arson
The fire damaged a women’s rest room at Pinellas Park’s soccer complex.
PINELLAS PARK – A teen has been accused of setting a fire that caused thousands of dollars in damage to the women’s restroom pavilion at Youth Park, the Pinellas Park Police Department said.
Rio Cheyenne Evey, 19, of Pinellas Park, was charged with one count of second degree arson.
Pinellas Park firefighters and police were called about a fire in the easternmost women’s restroom pavilion at Youth Park, the city’s soccer complex, about 2:15 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 7). The fire was put out by firefighters but not before it caused an estimated $19,000 worth of damage.
Officers who were there found Evey, who was still at the scene of the fire. Police said they interviewed Evey who admitted setting the fire using a lighter to ignite toilet paper, and a McDonald’s fry carton in two adjacent bathroom stalls inside the women’s restroom portion of the pavilion.
