Man Posed as Girl to Lure Teenaged Boys, St. Pete Police Say

He sexually assaulted one boy and another got away, according to the St. Petersburg Police Department.

ST. PETERSBURG – A man is accused of posing as a teenaged girl on Facebook so he could lure teenaged boys, the St. Petersburg Police Department said.

D’Andre Banks, 25, of St. Petersburg, has been charged with two counts of kidnapping and one count of sexual battery with a deadly weapon involving two teenaged boys in separate cases.

The first incident happened June 29. Police said Banks posed as a teenaged girl on Facebook and lured a 17-year-old boy to a house near Martin Luther King Street and Paris Avenue S. Banks was armed with a handgun and threatened the boy before sexually assaulting him.

A second incident happened Monday (July 17). Police said Banks posed as a teen girl on Facebook and lured a 15-year-old boy to a vacant house at 1830 20th Street S. The boy was able to escape unharmed.
