Man Accused of Killing Half-Brother

He tried to flee but crashed into two cars and flipped, the St. Petersburg Police Department said.

ST. PETERSBURG – An man has been charged in connection with the death of his half-brother, according to the St. Petersburg Police Department.

Antwan Hill, 29, of St. Petersburg, died of injuries he received in a fight with his half brother, Steven Murph, 26, also of St. Petersburg. Murph is charged with one count of first degree murder.

The argument started shortly after 2 a.m. Thursday (Oct. 4) at Murph’s residence on Second Avenue S. Police said the fight continued outside and ended up on the porch of the house on the corner.

During the fight, Murph injured Mr. Hill. When police arrived they did CPR until paramedics from St. Petersburg Fire and Rescue arrived. Mr. Hill was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Murph fled the scene in an SUV. A few blocks away, police said. he crashed into two cars and flipped. He then ran and hid in a nearby yard. When police arrived, he was found and taken into custody.
