Homeless Man Charged in Gulfport Sexual Battery
He is accused of attacking a girl on the Boca Ciega High School campus.
GULFPORT – A homeless man has been charged in connection with the 2018 sexual attack of a 17-year-old girl on the campus of Boca Ciega High School, the Gulfport Police Department said.
Javontae Summers, 24, was charged with one count of Sexual Battery. Police said he was identified by a DNA match to evidence collected at the time of the incident. Summers was found at the Pinellas County Courthouse and taken into custody.
Police said that, on Nov. 26, a 17-year-old Boca Ciega student was walking to school. While entering the campus property grounds (not the buildings), an unknown man ran up behind her and forced her to the ground.
He tried to sexually assault her. Police said she tried to fight him off and scream for help when a teacher arrived at the school
