The man pointed a shotgun at a family with two small children, Hillsborough deputies said.
HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A Tampa man is facing charges related to a road rage incident on the Veterans Expressway on Saturday (Jan. 29), the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said.
Alexander King, 24, of 5108 Ellendale Ave. in Tampa, was charged with four counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The incident happened about 6:30 p.m. Deputies said a family of four and King were traveling southbound on the Veterans Expressway north of Ehrlich Road when the family’s vehicle allegedly came into the lane of travel in which King was driving.
King drove up next to the other vehicle and pointed a 12-gauge shotgun in the direction of the victims, deputies said. The parents were in fear for their lives and the lives of their two children, a two-year-old and two-week-old boys.
The family got a tag number and description of the vehicle. Police arrested King and said he admitted pointing the shotgun at the family. The shotgun was found at his home, deputies said.
