Two Charged in Oldsmar Home Invasion, Kidnapping

Chrishaud C. Montgomery | Quadre K. Brown | Arrests

Deputies said they believe a third unidentified suspect left the scene in an unknown vehicle, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.

OLDSMAR – Two men have been accused of a home invasion and kidnapping in Oldsmar that left one man injured from a pistol whipping, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said.

Dwayne Times, 27, of Oldsmar, was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Chrishaud C. Montgomery, 17, of Tampa, was charged with one count each of home invasion robbery and kidnapping.

Quadre K. Brown, 21, who is homeless, was charged with one count each of home Invasion robbery, kidnapping, and possession of marijuana.

Deputies said they believe a third unidentified suspect left the scene in an unknown vehicle.

About 9:05 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 1), deputies said Times was inside his home on Shoreview Lane when he heard someone enter his residence. Three masked subjects armed with handguns confronted Times inside his home and pistol whipped him multiple times. The masked subjects demanded money and drugs.

Times gave them an undisclosed amount of money before being forced against his will into the back of his 2014 Volkswagen.

Deputies said the men tried to leave the neighborhood in the Volkswagen but Times was able to open the car door and jump out of the moving vehicle. Times fled on foot along Kilsyhte Street and started banging on doors to homes seeking help. The residents at one house heard Times banging at their door and let him inside their home before calling 911.

Deputies responded to the scene and found the Volkswagen abandoned near the intersection of Kilsythe Street and Shore Drive East, with the engine running. Deputies also found a handgun on the ground near the car.

K-9 deputies found Montgomery hiding in a mucky, unkept residential pool behind a residence on Country Club Drive. Shortly afterwards, K-9 deputies found Brown trying to get into a nearby home on Country Club Drive.
