WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Rep. Charlie Crist, D-St. Petersburg, issued the following statement “in response to revelations that National Security Advisor Michael Flynn had inappropriate and possibly illegal conversations with the Russian Ambassador to the U.S.”:

“Gen. Flynn’s communications with the Russian ambassador while President [Barack] Obama was still in office were highly questionable and deeply troubling. We now learn that he misled the American people, and appears to have discussed lifting Russian sanctions in violation of U.S. law. It is inexcusable, must be fully investigated and Flynn should be relieved of his position.”

Crist represents Congressional District 13, which covers most of Pinellas County.
