Pinellas Deputy Arrested, Accused of Battering His Wife

The incident happened at the deputy’s home in Oldsmar.

OLDSMAR – A deputy was arrested Friday (March 11) after an argument with his wife, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.

Arrested and charged with one count of battery domestic violence was James Nassiri. Nassiri has worked for the Pinellas sheriff since Oct. 12, 2012.

Deputies said they were called to Nassiri’s home in Oldsmar around 1:36 p.m. Friday (March 11). When deputies arrived they found that Nassiri, who was off duty, and his wife had engaged in an argument at their residence. Deputies say that Nassiri’s wife sustained minor injuries to her arm during the course of the argument. Nassiri was arrested about 4:45 p.m. and taken to the Pinellas County Jail without incident. The investigation is continuing.
