Hillsborough Sheriff Charges Man with 100 Counts of Child Pornography
The charges arose from pictures the man had on a cell phone, Hillsborough sheriff’s deputies said.
TAMPA – A Tampa man was arrested after Hillsborough sheriff’s deputies say they found 100 images of child pornography on a cell phone.
Stephen Christopher Gatto, 45, of 130 Halliday Park Drive, Tampa, was charged with 100 counts of possession of child pornography, the Hillsborough Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies said a court-authorized search warrant was executed June 30 on a Samsung Galaxy S3 cell phone. A complete forensic review of the cell phone revealed more than 100 image files of child pornography, which depicted children approximately 6 to 16 years of age either posing or engaged in sexual activities. Communications indicated that Gatto was the owner of the micro SD 4GB card located inside the cell phone.
A second court-authorized search warrant was executed Wednesday (July 6) at Gatto’s residence. Deputies said they seized several electronic devices, which will be examined for further evidence.
Gatto was arrested. More charges may be forthcoming.
