Hillsborough Sheriff Charges Five in Drug Bust

The arrests came after deputies executed a search warrant on a Tampa house.

TAMPA – Hillsborough sheriff’s deputies arrested five people Wednesday (July 27) after executing a search warrant on a Tampa house.

Paul Smith, 35, was charged with one count each of giving a false name to law enforcement, possession of drug paraphernalia, and two counts each of possession of cocaine and possession of cocaine with intent to sell. Smith also had outstanding warrants for burglary of an unoccupied conveyance, fraudulent use of a credit card, petit theft and possession of a stolen credit card, according to the Hillsborough County sheriff.

Rena Whalen, 43, was charged with one count each of possession of cocaine, felon in possession of a firearm and possession of drug paraphernalia, deputies said. Both Whalen and Smith lived at 3205 Clifford Sample Drive where the drug bust took place.

Darrell Sutton, 45, of 3207 Pinellas Place in Tampa, was charged with one count of possession of cocaine with intent to sell, deputies said.

Traci Woodham, 51, of 3219 Clifford Sample Drive, was charged with one count each of possession of cocaine, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to deputies.

Ernest Presha, 48, of 3508 Darlington Drive in Tampa, was charged with one count of possession of cocaine, deputies said.

Deputies said they also contacted code enforcement because of the condition of the residence.
