TAMPA – Officers are searching for the occupants of a Kia Sedona who fired shots at another vehicle early this morning (April 2), according to the Tampa Police Department.

The officers tried to stop the Kia, which fled with police in pursuit. The Kia began to drive recklessly and was able to elude the pursuing officers.

A short time later, the Kia was found abandoned in the 2900 block of W Ivy Street. Two firearms were found that had been discarded from the Kia.

The sedan that was believed to have been fired upon was not found. Police said no one is believed to have been struck by gunfire.

Detectives are working to identify the Kia’s occupants.
