One Dead After Drive-By Shooting in St. Petersburg

Another man was injured in the shooting, St. Petersburg police said.

ST. PETERSBURG – Officers are investigating a drive-by shooting that left one man dead and another injured, according to the St. Petersburg Police Department.

Quentin Hicks, 42, of St. Petersburg, died of his injuries. The name of the other man was not released. Officers said he suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the shooting happened  in the 1700 block of Bay Street NE when the occupants of a blue 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe shot at Mr. Hicks and another man who were in a black BMW.

After the shooting, at about 4:21 p.m., the BMW crashed into a tree on First Street NE near 20th Avenue.

Police have released a video of the shooting showing the Hyundai pulling away from the BMW after the incident. Anyone with information about the blue Hyundai, is asked to call the St. Petersburg Police Depasrtment at (727) 893-7780 , or text SPPD plus your tip to TIP411.
