Confederate Memorial in Seffner Vandalized

Red paint was thrown on all of the memorial columns and derogatory comments were written in paint on the memorial, according to the Hillsborough Sheriff’s Office.

SEFFNER – Deputies are investigating graffiti that was written on a Confederate memorial, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies said they were called to Confederate Memorial Park, 10418 U.S. 92 E about 11 a.m. Sunday (Aug. 13) for a complaint of criminal mischief/graffiti. The graffiti was discovered by
a passerby who called 911 to report it.

Deputies said they discovered red paint thrown on all of the memorial columns and drops of paint on the cement ground throughout the memorial. There were also derogatory comments written in paint on the memorial.
