BB Pellet Hits Hillsborough School Bus

Eleven elementary school pupils were on the bus, Hillsborough deputies said. No one was hurt.

RIVERVIEW – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an incident involving a school bus that was struck by a BB gun pellet Monday (May 6) afternoon.

Around 1 p.m., an unknown person shot a BB through the window of school bus No. 4343 from Summerfield Elementary School. The bus was driving near the intersection of Gordon Road and Entrance Way in Riverview. While there were 11 pupils on board at the time of the incident, no one was injured.

It is unknown at this time where the shot came from or if it was a prank by a juvenile. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone from the public with information on this incident to call (813) 247-8200.
