Pasco officials say to bring a shovel and be prepared to fill your own bags.

PASCO COUNTY – As rain continues to drench the Tampa Bay area, Pasco County emergency officials remind Pasco residents that self-serving sandbag sites are open 24 hours a day.

Sand and empty sand bags are provided. Bring a shovel and be prepared to fill your own bags:

  • Magnolia Valley Golf Course Clubhouse, 7223 Massachusetts Ave., New Port Richey
  • Pasco Fire Rescue Station 17, 2951 Seven Springs Blvd., New Port Richey
  • Pasco County Public Works (C-Barn), 30908 Warder Road, San Antonio
  • Old Dade City Police Station, 38042 Pasco Ave., Dade City

Flood safety reminders from Pasco County Emergency Management:

  • Residents can report flooding to the non-emergency number: (727) 847-8102.
  • Roads can flood quickly (flash flooding) during heavy downpours. Do not drive into flooded streets as your vehicle could become damaged or stranded.
  • Avoid contact with floodwater and do not allow children to play in or around floodwater. Contaminated standing water can make you sick and can also contain other hazards, including dangerous wildlife, such as snakes, floating insects, etc. If you do come into contact with floodwater, wash the affected area as soon as possible with soap and clean water.

Pasco County Emergency Management and Public Works are actively monitoring weather and flooding conditions and will provide updates as necessary.
