FDOT, Officials to Talk About Safety on Busch Boulevard

A pop-up event in Temple Terrace will highlight safety concerns for pedestrians and bicyclists along Busch Boulevard.

TEMPLE TERRACE – Safety for pedestrians and bicyclists along Busch Boulevard in the Temple Terrace redevelopment area is the topic of a pop-up community meeting.

The meeting, scheduled for 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday (Oct. 30) will be at at 56th Street and Busch Boulevard in Temple Terrace (Redevelopment Area). Attendees will have a chance to learn about how officials are working to improve safety for people who walk and ride bicycles along Busch. They will also have the opportunity at 8 a.m. to meet local leaders and learn how to a new safety initiative.

Featured speakers include David Gwynn, Florida Department of Transportation District Seven secretary; Kenneth R. Albano, Temple Terrace police chief, Dr. Robert L. Bertini, director of the Center for Urban Transportation Research; and Jonathan Forbes, chair, Hillsborough County Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee.

Those who arrive by bike, will have fee bike lights installed. Other safety items will also be given away.
